My Story
Everything started when I discovered that I'm expecting my first child, Maya in 2008. I knew two things for sure: I will carry her on me and breastfeed her. She was born by C-section because I did not do my homework to fully understand the significance and meaning of the natural birth process or I just wasn't ready to experience its power which I later achieved with my son, Martin.
These two amazing beings helped me to discover me and my inner peace and outer joy, This is what I'm doing now. Learning constantly through my own reading, research, workshops, from my own children and from helping others to do the same. I realised that parenting is just as much of a journey of discovery for the parent as it is for the child.
I then started the babywearing movement in South Africa in 2009 by giving talks at baby clinics about the benefits of attachment parenting and babywearing. I became a La Leche League Leader to support breastfeeding mothers in 2011. I gave birth at home to my second child in 2014. Established Nurturezone in 2015 to create the space where mothers and families can come and meet with non-judgmental people to build that "village" necessary to raise a child. At Nurturezone everyone can learn from each other, can create and join a facilitated class to contribute to our community. It is a unique place where you can take care of you, the carer by accessing available treatments while you allow your children to play freely and socialise with each other in a safe environment.
Our aim is to support everyone (absolutely any new parent) without any judgment until they are ready to create their own nurturezone and find their own "tribe" to support them during the joyous as well as the challenging times of child rasing and child education. Remember support doesn't come in being told how to parent. Feeling judged or controlled seems to be the main reason why new parents "go it alone".

I'm about to receive my Montessori 3-6 teacher diploma this year in South Africa. 20 years ago I received my mainstream teachers diploma in Hungary. The last three years of studies about the Montessori philosophy and it's implementation into our life created a massive urge in me to help others to learn about Dr Montessori's research about how children learn and help others to get to know her philosophy and help them to be able to implement it on an everyday basis into their family life. To educate their children in this way so they can reach their full potential on the most natural and effortless and respectful way. Montessori philosophy on child education fits in to how i feel about child raising. You may find your situation different and there is no right or wrong. We are all on our own unique journey or personal discovery and growth.
